Malé Taxi Line service launched in Vilimalé
The Malé Taxi Line service has been launched in Vilimalé, expanding the 24-hour taxi service that began in Malé and Hulhumalé on 2 April 2026. The launch ceremony was attended by Economic Development Minister Mohamed Saeed, MTCC Managing Director DCP (Retd) Ahmed Saudhee, and Vilimalé MP Mohamed Ismail. Four environmentally friendly vehicles of two sizes will initially operate. The service aims to address taxi shortages in the Greater Malé Region, as part of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's initiative. Passengers can book via the Malé Taxi Line app or hotline 1655. The service complements existing bus routes.
